About Us
Photography is Our Story
Many years ago, I discovered I was passionate about two things. First, to pursue my love of photography. Secondly, repatriate to my home in Barbados. As a child, I grew up in a village on the East Coast of Barbados high above the Atlantic Ocean. I never grew tired of the view from my home. I had a 180deg view of the East Coast of Barbados, which included verdant green hills and valleys. The hills, valleys, and cliffs all worked in harmony as they softly touched the turquoise-blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The Ocean rose like a blue wall until it reached a sharp line on the horizon, separating the Ocean from the sky. There were two variants to this magnificent scene. Early in the morning, when the sun gently sat on the horizon and cascaded light across the waters to me. The second variant was seeing a full moon, big, orange, and round slowly peek above the horizon, then slowly took its place at the edge of the water. These images were my constant reminder of the incredible power of the Master Painter. The scenes were perfect.
I eventually moved away from that village and traveled the world. In my travels, I experienced other wonders of nature and wanted to capture and share my view of the world as I saw it through my lenses. I marveled at the expansive landscapes, the majestic mountains, the transitions of the oceans, sand, and skies, and the light. I loved exploring and capturing the wonderful canvas of nature. I wanted others who did not have the opportunity to travel, or those who did not have a chance to explore the sceneries around them, share my views of nature.
From the very early age of 16 growing up in Barbados, I had this vision of holding the views from my village captive to share with the world. So, at a young age, I was introduced to photography when my older brother gifted me with my first camera. However, growing up in Barbados, there were other things more important than purchasing and processing film. Consequently, I abandoned my dream of becoming a photographer. But I never stopped chasing my passion.
Currently, I am in the process of repatriating to Barbados. I am going back to my ancestral home and the fantastic view of the East Coast of Barbados. I desire to reconnect with the beauty of Barbados and share those images through my photography. As a boy, I found inspiration from my view in Chimborazo. Now, as a returning National, I plan to rekindle that inspiration as I reconnect with my history. But what legacy I imagine as a result of my photography.
My goal is to continue to photograph nature and images that inspire me and then share with others to make lasting impressions of the wonders around us. Further, I plan to work with any able and willing youth interested in art, especially photography, to overcome any barriers that might prevent them from realizing their artistic potential.
